In our last paper led by Mahya we estimate the rice planting date in Combodia using sentinel-1 Satellite images and compared it with the fixed crop planting date that is usually used in crop yield estimation. the crop calendar developed from long-term planting date observations is the basis for the fixed crop planting date. However, parameters such as climate change, and socioeconomic factors can change the farmers' planting date decision, which can significantly change the crop yield. The above map shows differences in planting dates that can be as big as +/-75 days. We used a MetBrewer color palette that is inspired by a french dress design in 1937, for visualizing the difference.
